Here’s how the process works:

1. A trained technician inserts a small closed circuit camera into the drain and feeds it along your sewer or drain tile. We prefer having the homeowner watch the images on the monitor with our technician present so you can see for yourself what the condition of the system is.
2. If the problem can be solved with a simple cleaning, we can choose between drain snaking or hydro-jetting.
   A drain snake is a rotating cable with an attached blade that can cut through tree roots and other particles that lay in its path. A hydro-jet is a high pressure water spray that has the power to burst through blockages and scour the entire pipe, flushing debris away. Because some types of drains are more brittle than others (older clay tiles in pre-1970 homes for example), properly trained technicians are crucial to matching the appropriate auger bits, cables and PSI ratings to prevent damage.
3. Discuss next steps. If your drain cleaning is a temporary response to an emergency, you may want to book an appointment to repair a portion of your drain system or replace it altogether (to bring it up to municipal standards, for example). Alternatively, you may choose to have us follow up with a maintenance inspection and cleaning at a future date.
